Gabriel's Redemption is the third and final book in the Gabriel's series, in which Gabriel's Inferno was first, Gabriel's Rapture was second and this book is the third and last- Gabriel's Redemption.This book focuses on Gabriel and Julia as a married couple now, and the things that happen with them while they are trying to have the best marriage possible. Gabriel has to learn that he can't interfere in Julia's work for her trip to Italy where she has been given a big honor to give an academic lecture at Oxford. Gabriel hurts her feelings when he reads the paper and tells her she is wrong in her thinking! This causes the old Julia to reappear, the girl who thought she could not do anything right, and for Gabriel the one person in her life that truly matters, to say it is not correct wounds her deeply. It takes the appearance of their old professor Katherine Picton who has always been their wonderful professor-both of them and her telling Gabriel to butt out that gets things back on track! They go and it is filled with all kinds of trauma, but the end result is that all will be well.Gabriel now that he has straightened up his life yearns for a child with Julia, and sets out to find out about getting his vasectomy reversed, and while julia wants to have a child, she wants to wait for her studies to be done so she will have accomplished what she set out to do. however she supports him and they go together the day he gets it done.In the meantime other things are happening and Gabriel sets out to find out about his father and he learns he has a sister, and they meet in New York. Gabriel told Julia he would do it alone so she would not miss school but they keep missing each other on the phone and Gabriel is getting nervous and not liking being away from hi brown eyed angel.Their love is so real that they can actually feel when the other is in trouble or upset and Julia starts getting nervous about Gabriel worried he may not handle being alone well-and he isn't. One night he returns to the hotel and there she is! He is so overwhelmed with joy! These are the things that I love about all of these books-certain things that happen that are so touching.A lot of other things happen and you will love reading about them as I have and the end of the book is so joyful! I will be reading this book again and again over the years. This whole trilogy was wonderful and I have to say that all 3 of the books were beautifully written and were filled with so many different emotions and scenes and the way they were handled and resolved.I gave this book 5***** stars and the trilogy 5 stars as well!
Beautiful, wonderful series! I loved all three books and savored them thoroughly. I really smiled at the wedded bliss for Professor Emerson and Julianne in Gabriel's Redemption. I just loved the Emersons. I am a reader that always wants "more" and Gabriel's Redemption satisfied me greatly by revisiting earlier happenings from previous books in greater detail. I loved this! Much was addressed and wrapped up, making this a great final book in this Trilogy.I loved the pace of this book and treasured every chapter as these two worked out their journey thoughtfully and with each other's help (as a couple). Once again, I was deeply touched by the beauty and poignant thoughts in Gabriel's Redemption, too, like with Gabriel's Inferno and Gabriel's Rapture. I loved the health and healing amidst the challenges for sure. So well done.Quotes:"All the while, Julia's heart nearly cracked under the weight of her realization that her love had not healed him.""You're my Persephone; the maiden to my monster." Gabriel"But don't let guilt and fear rob you of your choices." Gabriel to Julianne"His brown-eyed angel didn't eliminate his concerns. I just reread the Gabriel series and realized I never reviewed. The whole series,was a life of love,with heartache,angst, life, anger and emotion. Lots of emotion.I reread This, just because. I have read all of Syvains books. I love the Emerson's. Seeing them in the other books,is nice, though I would love to see more of them, further along, with their family. Julia as a Professor, Scott,Tammy,Aaron,Rachel, Richard, Tom,Diane, and baby Tommy. Where does Gabriel end up. How many more children. Friendships? So much happens in the academic field.And Simon,Natalie, Christa. There's a whole another novel there.Think about it. By the way, Tommy, as Julia's brother ,would be a Brother In law, not a nephew,correct?Absolutely awesome story. All the books!!
*CONTAINS SPOILERS*What a disappointment! Where's the suspense, the angst and the tension of the first two books that kept me turning pages? This final installment was borrrrring and made Julia look more like a whiny little girl rather than the mature woman she had become in Inferno and Rapture. Reynard made it a point to wrap up Christa, Paul and Simon's storylines.. but what about Gabriel and Julia's, Aaron and Rachel's and Tom and Diane's son, Tommy? Where's the epilogue about Julia getting her degree, publishing papers and becoming a professor all while raising a family? Where's the finally-pregnant Rachel or her adopted child in case pregnancy wasn't in the cards for her? Was Tommy having any difficulties because of his heart condition?Also, other than Julia's discussion of forgiving and forgetting Simon, he was completely unnecessary in this book. Seems Uncle Jack was overly concerned about his pregnant niece (repeated several times) so he took it upon himself to complete some sort of vendetta against Simon and Natalie, which was rather childish. And as much as I love Paul, he was also pointless in this book after his goodbye to Julia. He could've been mentioned in the much-needed epilogue as being in a happy relationship with somebody else so we at least know he turned out well.Bottom line: if you read and loved the first two books, stop right there and ask somebody else for the summary of what happens in the third. Considering how most of the book was boring fluff and a ton of sex (good lord, they give rabbits a run for their money!), it should only take about thirty seconds to sum it up.
