Cade's quest to rid Wales of Demons continues in this exciting installment of the Last Pendragon Saga. Song of the Pendragon was a thoroughly enjoyable adventure/quest and I was totally engrossed right till the end. What I love about this series is the combination of paganism and Christianity that infuses this story as Wales stands on the cusp of religious change - it is authentic to the period as Christianity begins to take presendence over the older religions. Cade represents both view points co-existing together in a harmonious way - Cade is both Christian, yet he is also sidhe and great power has been granted to by the three-headed goddess, Arianrhod. In this installment Cade, together with his friends, make a deadly trip into the heart of Arawn's domain to face him and force him back into the under-world. Song of the Pendragon also satisfied my love of the romantic - Cade and Rhiannon finally acknowledging and accepting their love for each other (sigh). Totally looking forward to the next exciting installment in Sarah Woodbury's, The Last Pendragon Saga.
I have enjoyed several of Woodbury's books, but was really disappointed by this series ... cutting a story into snippets and presenting it as multiple novellas, when each snippet was really a chapter in a book is not fair to the reader. The writing was good, the story interesting, but I felt cheated by the presentation. Sorry.
I would like to start my review by saying I love Sarah's writing. I've read all her books, and love them.Her writing is fresh and exciting; humorous and different. Just the thing for hours of entertainment and fun reading.
this was an easy read without many unpredictable twists. Characters maintained their definitions and dialogue was fairly simple. Gods aren't very smart.
Completely addicting storyline, I am off to follow This Quest with Cade and his companions, as you surely will also if you have joined us so far! Long live the Pendragon!
