VERY misleading of Amazon. This is a thin booklet overview. The reviews here cover many different versions of The Art of War and are all combined here. It's a complete joke. Get it together AMAZON.
I guess this is one of Amazon's self-published versions if the book where some Joe Shmo took the manuscript and published it for themselves?It's absolute garbage. It's overly condensed and the formatting is atrocious. I got rid of this and went to a local brick and mortar shop to get the version I wanted for five bucks. Don't bother ordering this one.
Seriously? You want customers to write reviews on the friggin Art of War?? The movie I can understand ... but the book?? Ok let’s give it a shot. Hmmm.... Tzu was a very violent man with serous psychopathic tendencies. Having said that he seemed to have underused his cavalry and was exceedingly harsh with his men (and probably women). He could have used more meditation and yoga.
One of my favorite books of all time. Contains way too much knowledge for such a small set of pages, many authors and modern books go to great lengths to explain its most easiest principles. The art of war has been a guide in many parts of my life since military strategy is not only about war and destruction but of man's struggle for survival. I always recommend this book for anyone trying to find simple principles that guide life.
I've been hearing about this tome several times over in programing I've viewed within the past 2 years. I thought I would seek it out to read it myself. Excellent read. Thorough, yet broad depiction of warfare. The title holds true: war is an art form.
I love having this book as a digital book because I can find passages easily . I have had this book for many years, but it is now much more reader friendly. The book itself is a roadmap to enjoying a stress free life. It's like having a mentor by your side at all times.
Now I know what SUN TZU means when a fomous general refers to this book. At Waterloo napolian made all the mistakes. First he underestimated the fight in in the enemy, he fought the battle uphill in knee deep mud and he was surprised by enemy reinforcements at the critical moment of the battle. If he had read SUN TZU he would not have fought the battle at all at that time and place.
If you live a life, this is a must-read. If you deal with people at all, read it. If you're in business, this is a must-read. Yes, it's historical, but there is so much to be gleaned from it each time you read it. Read it.
