Omg this is awful. It is a pamphlet, not a book. The author apparently has not gone to college, because there are so many grammar and punctuation errors! I will definitely return it, it is not worth the money!

Really 18 pages of info. The 'book' (bka pamplet) is 30 pages long but is really 18 pages of anything and the font is HUGE. Here is the gist: fast for 16, 18, 20 hours a day. Stay away from the usual food culprits. When you get good at fasting do longer fasts of a day or 36 hours but do not go longer then 36 hours you burned all your reserves. It is easier if you do the fast on the same days to get in the habit but you don't need to. There ya just saved yourself some money.

There is probably a lot to know about the science of intermittent fasting, but many people who want to lose weight would like the practical, useful information now and might read the intricate science later. This book zeroes in on the brass tacks of Intermittent Fasting and is easily readable in one evening. I've read the larger books on IF type of eating (Warrior Diet, Eat Stop Eat, etc.) and this one covers a lot of what you'll find in those books. The tips on boosting GH and Testosterone are good. You don't have to follow his fitness routine; a sound routine of strength and conditioning COMBINED with IF will get you to where you want to be if you are disciplined enough to stick to a plan.

This is a pamphlet, not a book. Poorly written self published. Has table of contents but is only 20 pages of material with no numbered pages. Not worth the purchase but I admire the writer for creating a money maker by self publishing.

This book shows you how easy it is to get started with Intermittent fasting. It also talks about how mainline health and fitness has gotten it wrong on so many levels, definitely a good read if you are looking for ways to jump start weight loss or naturally increase HGH or testosterone levels increasing. Definitely worth the money.

In this book author Peter Paulson gives a thorough explanation of the "what's", "how's", and "why's" of this new approach to eating (basically cycling periods in which you eat with periods that you don’t eat). This book is a great place to start to get all your questions answered and to make a decision about whether this is a program that's right for you.

I am a fan of Pipers work and knew this was a reboot of the fuzzy book. I have not read the H Beam Piper version so I can't accurately compare. I have read Empire and Federation so I am familiar with Pipers work. So on to the book. I enjoyed it the characters were well thought out and intelligent. Carl was probably my favorite character because i miss my old dog and it reminds me of that. The main character Jack Holloway is a bit of a smarty pants like myself and plots things out to his benefit but in the end he has to do the right thing and looses most of the money and redeems himself as a human. The fuzzies are clever and hide a lot from the reader till the end. I like the setting it seems realistic and gritty reminding me of my time working in the middle east for companies that like the one in the book thought they were above the law. A lot of the more critical reviews mention that it's not as moralistically or intellectually ambitious as Old Man's War. That's exactly why I like it. I think Scalzi makes a great spy thriller, historical fiction, fast-paced sci fi type author and I get a little uncomfortable when he tries to get too ambitious. Like Old Man's War itself was great but the rest of the series felt like an attempt at an Opus that was just never going to be some kind of Opus-deep critique of humanity. Fuzzy Nation, and I'd add Collapsing Empire, are correctly bite-sized. Scalzi's great at quick, relatable characters, quick, intriguing plot. Fun books. Not the next high literature. And there's nothing wrong with that. And this book is fun. I like the protagonist, I like his dog, I like the not-love-interest, I like the villains for what they are. The trial is cute. As a lawyer the idea that a preliminary hearing could turn into a referendum on the fate of a planet is hilarious. The humor is blended in to the thriller aspects and it's just all great. You don't have to reinvent the wheel to write a good book and this is a good book.

I read all the H. Beam Piper Fuzzy books in High School and I loved them. I am also skeptical about people re-writing other people's work. However, Scalzi never disappoints and this is perfect. It has the same flavor as the Piper books plus a bit of Scalzi thrown in. Well worth the read.

I have read both books. The original by H. Beam Piper and this I found them a nice contrast and highlight of attitudes between then and now. You will have to read the original to get the full effect. I like the contrast in the attitude between Fuzzies being cute little innocent "Children" who needed adopted for their own good for protection in a modern society. Very common post imperial self righteous smug superiority complex toward aboriginals in the original. VERSUS A sentient being on a mission to find someone with the resources to kick the exploiting invader off my freaking planet (ID4?! anyone).This is not space opera of rayguns and spaceships this is a science fiction as a vehicle to examine motives and ethics in a safely distant manner..........in both cases tainted by the attitude of the times.

I like this author, and I liked this particular book of his. It felt like a fresh novel, and didn't feel like the author was desperately looking for something to write about just to continue banking on pervious successes (hello, Orson Scott Card & the Ender series). It's a light hearted summer reading book - don't read it if you're looking for anything meaningful. It's whimsical entertainment.

Fuzzy Nation tells the story of a prospector on an alien planet who comes across adorable cat-like creatures that he dubs “Fuzzies.” Only when he introduces his latest find to a local biologist, he discovers that these creatures might be more than just animals, but sapient beings who rightfully own the planet they are currently mining the crap out of. Fuzzy Nation combines adorableness with genuinely interesting ethical dilemmas, and the suspense of a court room drama. It was a fast read (I flew threw it in just a couple of days), but a really worth while one.

When I first saw this book, I thought Cool - another story in the fuzzy universe. Then I read the intro - and I thought how could anyone rewrite H Beam Pipers work? Then I read the book - and thoroughly enjoyed it. A completely different spin on the Fuzzies, and an enjoyable one at that. If you enjoy H Beam Piper, read this book - you will enjoy it just as much.

This was a favorite book of mine long ago and I wondered how the remake would work out. It was different yet kept much of the important aspects of the story and was very well written. Lots of humor but serious parts as well. Highly recommend this book and this author.

I've read The Old Man's War, and was immediately delighted with the "intelligent humor" I found there, and this latest offering doesn't dissapoint! SO many bookmarks on funny scenes I'll keep going back to! If you want a good laugh in an intelligent sort of way, buy this book! Carl will thank you. Woof! :)

The recipes are simple, clear and the book is written in simple language that everyone can understand and this comprehensive book gives insight into everything you'd want to know when using an electric smoker and cookbook has done wonders and now he/she looks like some kind of a professional smoker and I enjoy cooking and have been for over 10 years, but the idea of actually smoking my food is still relatively new to me and i was pleased to find these recipes concise and easy to understand and some involve more prep time than others, but all are easy to follow and just remember rule number one about trying a new recipe, read it not once, but twice and first to see if you understand it and the second to insure you have everything to prepare the dish and I'm happy because I've enjoyed the new recipes too and I love it when I get a break from the kitchen and Sam Green provides practical tips for entertaining, and gives useful information about ingredients along the way and he/she also injects humor now and then too and i highly recommend the book to anyone looking to explore the world of smoking, expanding their cooking skills or just looking for great new BBQ sauces and marinades to try.

I was hoping this cookbook would be more informative. Recipes in this book are easily found online. For someone learning to use a smoker I needed a crash course. I found help in the book "Project Smoke" by Steven Raichlen. A very good book for information and good recipes for many different ways to smoke your food.

I recently purchased an electric smoker and had no idea how to use it. This cookbook is incredibly useful for a first time smoker! The recipes are easy to follow, and the food is tasty and delicious. Lots of good ideas, and if you're a good cook, you can tweak them as you wish, which makes the recipes more versatile. Good buy.

I am a long time fan of Susanna Kearsley, and I’ve read all of her books, Bellewether is a wonderful story that I wholeheartedly enjoyed. The main story of Lydia and Jean-Philippe is probably one of her finest, unfortunately I can’t say the same for the subplot of Charley and Sam, it felt forced while the main story has much to offer.We have a ghost as in The Shadowy Horses, but the interaction here is more “normal”, more plausible and that is nice.Compared to The Winter Sea and The Firebird this is a slow paced book, the story is built slower and it’s not until the very end that you can really gasp the beauty of the story.If you are reading Susanna Kearsley for the first time, this is a great read but I won’t recommend it for starters, read the Rose Garden, The Winter Sea or The Firebird first, and then come back to Bellewether so you can fully appreciate this particular story and her talent as a writer and storyteller.“But sometimes what we see is what we want to see, and not what’s really there. Pre-ordered this book as I have any book written by Susanna Kearsley. Her books, like those written by my other favorites Diana Galbaldon, Karen White or Kathryn Kingsley to name a few, are a literary treat and worth reading more than once. That said, the not so subtle allusions to social justice, pc phraseology and the application of present day mores to correct and/or apologize for historical events is baffling. The double story lines plod along searching for relevancy but not quite achieving it. Of the two story lines, the historical characters were far more interesting. Despite that, the book was a tedious and a disappointing read. It saddens me that the incessant drum beat of activism appears inescapable. Bottom line: Ignorance and cruelty is never acceptable. It existed then and it does now, however, encouraging people to feel guilt over things they have in no way participated in or supported is a blatant attempt to manipulate their emotions.

Susanna Kearsley is on my list of favourite authors, and this book did not fail to deliver. Fascinating characters and a captivating tale, this book, as with all her books, was impressively researched. The one thing I didn’t appreciate was there was a little bit of grandstanding on some issues. Having read Ms. Kearsley’s remarks at the end, I understand that she wanted to highlight injustices, both fairly recent and some from further back in time, but it seemed as though she wanted to touch on everything, from a multitude of British wrongs, to slavery, residential schools, and the mistreatment of Acadians; all important issues, but at times I felt like I was reading a historical lecture. I would have preferred for the story to just tell itself. Having said that, I would still highly recommend the book.

I'm going to be very honest in this review. I have read every book Susanna Kearsley has written. There is only one book that I didn't like. That was Named of the Dragon. I gave up on that one. Everything else I either loved immensely or liked a lot.I have been impatiently waiting for the release of Bellwether for years. When it came out I saw several people mention that it was slow. Uh-oh I thought....I started it and at first it was fine. I was interested in it for sure. Then, it got slow! I was so upset. After all this waiting how could Susanna Kearsley give me a slow book!?! But I just couldn't give up that easily and I kept going. It got good again. Then it got a little slow again. Then it got good again. There were a couple slow areas, but way less and then it stayed good in my opinion! Towards the end it was amazing and I couldn't put it down!There is a twist at the end that I was happy about and I really was so enthralled during the last 30% of the book. I was glued to my Kindle! So, I'm happy and the book lived up to my expectations!I have to also say the subject written about, the historical aspect of the French Indian war is something I'd never read about, so I enjoyed this dip into history!I guess now I wait again for her next book.... 😀

i have read all her books and love them this one was so slow it just didnt fit together the Charley parts were just not interesting or germaine to the plot(s) i would not have continued to read had i not enjoyed her other work so much kept waiting for it to pick up it never did
