I've studied classical music my whole life and this book opened up new composers and new types of music; it's a constant discovery. I bought this for my daughter but kept it for myself!

Great read

This is a history of classical music beginning with the purely vocal plainchant in the time of Pope Gregory 1. It covers the early development of such music through to the music of the female cleric Hildegard, in the middle ages. It ends modern music with 20th century British opera, and features a note on Benjamin Britten. Its final chapter is on contemporary music which features musicians such as John Cage and Terry Riley (keyboardist). It describes subjects such as the development of the string quartet, and chamber groups. For every form, the book features a master practitioner and has a brief description and critical assessment of the music. This is a fine, all-round book though not one that is suitable if you are going for depth. Nonetheless, an enjoyable book for any time.

A very nice chronologically oriented review of the evolution of classical music. The book highlights key works of every composer through the ages with individual profiles and interesting facts. The graphics are splendid. A commendable addition to any audiophiles collection as well as those looking to explore classical.

There are two very different books being sold and reviewed, but they both start out on the same product page. The title of both is "Five Little Monkeys Reading in Bed" and they are both by Eileen Christelow. However, one of them is a hardback with 40+ pages and the other is a paper back with eight pages. The former is the actual book; the latter is a promo put out by Scholastic Books. The problem is that Amazon does not seem to realize there are two different books. On the original product description page, they have the book as having three different formats: hard cover, soft cover and kindle. The description on the original page is correct. However, if you click on the used/paper back format link, it takes you to the eight-page book. Unless, when you are on that page, you click on the link that says "return to product description", and then scroll down and read the description, you will not know that you have started looking at the promo, 8-page book. It is extremely misleading. I ended up ordering the eight page book by mistake, then had to order the hard back. It appears that the original book has not yet been produced as a paper back. The way you can tell the difference between the two versions, is to look for the little red label, centered at the bottom of the cover page. If it says "Scholastic Books," that is the eight page version. I would not recommend getting it....but the hard back book is very cute.

Fantastic story to teach rhyme scheme to young readers. The story is full of fun and humor as the five little monkeys try to sneak extra bedtime stories without getting caught by mama. This book is a staple in my 2 year old's bedtime routine. This story has a much better flow and is more fun to read than the other little monkey books.

I like the different spin on this book, and the encouraging message to keep reading! Great choice of book.

My almost-four year old daughter loves the 5 little monkey books, and when I saw this one I just had to get it for her. It is so much fun to read, and I love that the monkeys love to read and show how much fun reading is. Of course, these mischieveous little monkeys are reading in bed late at night after Mama told them to go to sleep... but finally they do realize it is time to go to bed, and they can read more tomorrow!

my daughter (who is 6 years old ) loves these books bought the whole series. We read each one every night

We have another Five Little Monkeys book. I have read them so many times that I know the words by heart. My daughter is obsessed with these books!

These were Christmas presents and the kids loved these books.

We are big fans of this entire series and this one in particular is great for a bedtime read. The illustrations are amusing to my toddler and he loves seeing what mischief the five little monkeys get into with each story.

I preordered this book so I have been reading it for about a week now. It is a wonderful book on security research for iOS devices. Don't expect to write a jailbreak for the newest devices after reading this book though, as that would require much experience in writing exploits, fuzzing, kernel debugging and ROP, which is completely understandable. It is foolish to believe that reading one book will allow you to write jailbreaks and find exploits with ease.The book begins covering sandboxing, code signing and iOS enterprise applications, and their weaknesses. The chapter on fuzzing was very explanatory on the techniques used to do so. It covered fuzzing PDF and powerpoint documents in mobile safari, as well as SMS fuzzing. The next chapter talks about exploitation on iOS devices, focusing on heap exploits and in turn, memory allocation and deallocation.The chapter on ROP explains what is capable and not capable with return oriented programming, and gives two great examples of such techniques. Following that is a chapter on kernel exploitation, describing how to reverse the IOKit kernel drivers and finding vulnerabilities, as well as how to exploit vulnerabilities once found. This chapter concludes with a demonstration on the heap fang shui technique used for heap buffer overflow exploits.The jailbreaking chapter is not particularly long, but that is because the techniques used have been described in other parts of the book. This chapter examines the redsn0w jailbreak and describes each step performed by it, including the different kernel patches applied by the jailbreak.The final chapter covers baseband hacking, which I have not read in detail yet. It appears, at first glance, to cover general knowledge on cell networks leading into the RTOS used on the baseband chips, and ending with a description of the ultrasn0w unlock.Overall, I would recommend anyone who is interested in the techniques and steps used to find vulnerabilities and exploit them, leading to the development of a jailbreak for an iOS device.

I pre-ordered this book months ago, and got exactly what I was looking for: an in depth look at iOS security. It doesn't just talk about the present, but also takes a look at how far iOS has came since version 1. You'll find little details throughout that give you insight to some of the events and vulnerabilities that the authors (and others) were involved in. Great buy, especially if you're looking to learn more about mobile security.

iOS Hacker's Handbook offers a good overview about the security mechanisms and possible strategies to overcome them.The way current hacking techniques are being introduced, should enable less experienced programmers and enthusiast to get started and the more advanced reader will find a very well processed compendium (and more).About the troll comments further down:Some are obviously misinterpreting this book's intention. It's not about giving you a detailed tutorial on how to create a jailbreak, but to give a starting point, to introduce techniques needed and to motivate you to start learning and researching (btw. this belongs to security RESEARCH). Creating a jailbreak needs weeks and months of work, not to mention the vast experience and skills needed to pull of such a major task. One book can't accomplish that. So if you really want to become the next comex or pod2g: get off your backside, learn basics, read this book, read more materials, train your obtained skills and at the end of the road you might be able to develop your own exploits which will lead to a jailbreak.

This book is just great, it contains all the information necessary to develop iOS jailbreaks, but this book will not turn you into an i0n1c, musclenerd or pod2g overnight,of course a lot of knownledge will be necessary on the last chapters, but the first chapters are presented in a easy-to-understand language that almost anyone can perfectly understand, but of course, later on it will introduce you to ios basic jailbreaking tools, and of course it will get harder as you go through the whole book, but it's a really good challenge for anyone who wants to get introduced to the iOS jailbreaking world.

There isn't a lot of information on the web about iOS security. If you have any interest in that kind of thing at all, this is the book you need to read.

You won't find a better introduction to iOS security than this book.The authors manage to cover a variety of different subjects in enough detail to give you a good grounding in the iOS security model as well as the current state of vulnerability discovery on the platform.

The author does an incredible job with the honesty and transperency to help people see how getting over some things that maybe they never even thought of could be holding them back. The first 3 recipes I looked at gave servings that don't match instructions.As in serves 3 and then tells you to divide into 8 jars? and serves 4 and put into 2 jars. Although it doesn't specify, most nutrition information is per serving, and if this is the case then these recipes are not for losing weight-i.e. 2 servings of breakfast porridge at Cal: 658 carbs: 30.6 fat:58.2 grams....even if this is for the whole recipe, which I guess I'll never know, it isn't one for weight loss. If this is suppose to be helpful for food prep then portion/serving size and nutritional information should be spot on it is anything but. I put one of the most simple recipes in my fitness pal and it was not even close to the matching the nutrition information given no matter how I split it up.

I was looking for the new healthy recipes for my Instant Pot and my sister recommended me this cookbook. From this book, I learned some of the basics of meal planning. In this cookbook, I found a great collection of healthy and delicious recipes for my Instant Pot. There are breakfast recipes, meat recipes, poultry recipes, soups, stews and chili recipes, vegetarian recipes. The instructions are very detailed, easy to follow, with nutritional value. Now I can cook healthy and well- balanced food for all my family every day. I liked this book very much and I am glad to have it on my Kindle to use when I need it. I highly rercommend this cookbook to anyone who needs such kinds of recipes.

I was excited to get my instapot and start speeding up my meal prep days. I have been meal prepping for over 5 years and have a certificate in fitness nutrition. I would have days set aside to get it done. I ordered this book for guidance. I was very disappointed in that most of the recipes are items I would NEVER include in meal prep bc they are NOT HEALTHY. I would not recommend this book if you are looking to eat clean and healthy!

This is a great book for beginners!Although all recipes are delicious and easy to made but i like : delicious corn bread,traditional banana bread,Grandma's meatloaf more.I want to try all these recipes because these are also useful to loose weight.
